About This Site

The Crafts Home Decor is written for people who would rather make their home decor than buy it. Craft Safety

Hot glue guns and melted candle wax can cause real burns. Keep a bowl of cool water nearby, never touch the nozzle or freshly applied glue, and unplug glue guns and wax melters the moment you step away. Never leave a burning candle unattended, trim wicks before lighting, and keep candles away from curtains, dried florals and anything that can catch.

Spray paint, chalk-finish aerosols, stains, resins and some adhesives release fumes. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated garage, wear gloves and a mask rated for the product, and follow the label on every can. Blades in cutting machines and craft knives are sharp; change them with care and store them out of reach.

Many craft supplies are dangerous if swallowed by pets or small children, including yarn, cord, ribbon, wax, beads, glue sticks and small hardware. Store supplies in closed containers up high and clean up scraps before you leave the room.
